Renewable Energy and Sustainability could be the engine that moves the world post COVID-19 in order to combate climate change and pandemic crisis with a common roadmap. This hackathon we have made in cooperation with 6 Sustainable Energy women Engineers. Together, we will address a few problems that have big consequences in our CO2 footprint. Facing a problem that needs to be solved, participants will be introduced to some technologies which allow humans to reduce our footprint as well as being challenged to think as entrepreneurs.

The girls will be introduced to hands-on technology. We will work with solar cells and a small wind turbine and other technologies relevant when talking about renewable energy.

Because of COVID-19 we have to do this hackathon virtually. We will send some materials to you beforehand and we ask you to ask one of your girlfriends to attend the hackathon with you so that you can work together during the hackathon – we will then have 6 sites with 2 girls in each site – at DTU the 6 educators and High5girls will be together.

Send a mail to Mette mm@high5girls.dk with the following information: Your name, address, phone number, age, one of your parents emails and phone number, size of T-shirt you need ( from xs to xl), and let us know if you have any allergies or so we should be aware of ( we send some nuts and “hygge” with the technology kit you will have to work with during the hackathon.

We are so much looking forward to seeing you. The Hackathon will be held in English. It will be possible to ask questions to a Danish speaking person in case there are issues because of the language but – you need to be able to understand some English and have an interest in learning more.

In High5Girls we envision a world where both boys and girls actively contribute to the STEM solutions of the future. Our focus is girls within the ages of 13 – 19 so we organise Camps/Hackathons to introduce them to technology and let them embrace Entrepreneurial Thinking. We do it in a fun, safe (following COVID-19 regulations) and comfortable atmosphere where  participants can work with technology and entrepreneurship in a creativity environment.

Er du nysgerrig på, hvad kodning går ud på, og kunne du godt tænke dig at kode en robot? Så kom og vær med på denne hackaton, hvor vi sammen med vores high5girls rollemodeller og ingeniør-studerende går på opdagelse i robotternes verden.

I skal lære at tænke som en robotdesigner og skal bruge den viden til at kode forskellige robotter. I får masser af hands-on erfaring med kodning af ”Fable robotten”. I skal lave en samlebåndrobot, en venlig hjælperrobot og vi skal se om vi kan få robotten til at lære noget (kunstig intelligens).

På campen skal vi også se, hvordan rigtige robotter løser opgaver rundt omkring i verden, og hvor langt vi er nået med kunstig intelligens. Hvis vi har tid får I en fri opgave, hvor I skal designe en robot, som løser et vigtigt problem.

Kurset er for dig, der ikke har prøvet eller kun har en lille erfaring med kodning.

Vi sørger for mad, drikke og masser af hygge.

Så tilmeld dig 3 dages design Camp i sommerferien.

Sammen med 25 andre piger skal du bo på efterskolen for iværksætteri, New Nordic Youth og opleve alt det fede ved at gå på efterskole. Det bliver 3 dage fuld af sjov, hygge og I bliver klædt på til at arbejde som iværksættere og designere.

I får blandt andet til opgave at starte jeres egen virksomhed (hvilken én er endnu hemmeligt), og der vil være mulighed for at designe smykker, tasker mv. Efterskolen er udstyret med den nyeste teknologi indenfor design, så det vil være muligt at går hjem med noget, du selv har designet og produceret.

Alle kan deltage, så tag en veninde med og få en helt særlig oplevelse i sommerferien.

Once you are happy you can think like a robot, we will apply that thinking to develop our very own Line Following robot, from physically assembling all the pieces together, writing code to tell it what to do, and having a bit of friendly competition with your new friends.

Program is in English but we will have some Danish speaking persons on site – so do not worry – it is good practice if you are not 100%. English speaking.
